Bobcat baseball is weeks away, and the squad is likely eager to get things back on track four seasons removed from their last NCAA Tournament appearance. From future Pac-12 opponents to marquee home matchups, here is a breakdown of the Bobcats’ schedule.

Marquee home-and-homes

The Bobcats will take on multiple Power Four and NCAA Tournament schools throughout the season, but the interesting thing to note is the multiple home-and-home games they will partake in.

Kicking off against the Baylor Bears, Texas State will travel to Waco for its first away game of the season in February. The two previously tangled there last season, where the Bobcats prevailed 6-2. They will face off once more back in San Marcos when the regular season winds down in May.

From there, the I-35 Showdown will write its latest chapter in rivalry history as UTSA returns to town, fresh off a dominating 2025 season that not only saw them sweep the Bobcats but, more importantly, come just two wins away from reaching Omaha after falling in the Super Regionals to UCLA.

The Texas Longhorns will travel to San Marcos on March 10, and the Bobcats will follow back to Austin at the end of the month.

Texas State will return to College Station and face the Texas A&M Aggies in mid-March. The two faced last season, when the Bobcats defeated the then-No.1 team in the country in dominating fashion, 7-3. The Aggies will return to San Marcos for the first time since 2024 at the beginning of April.

Rematches, tournament time & future Pac-12 opponents

Texas State will open the season on Valentine’s Day weekend against a new opponent in the Niagara Purple Eagles.

At the tail end of February, Texas State will partake in the College Baseball Series tournament in Cleburne. They will play Abilene Christian for the first time to open the tournament, following with Tarleton State and wrapping up with ACU once more.

The Bobcats will get an early taste of Pac-12 baseball when they play two future conference opponents, the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Washington State Cougars, at home in the first two months.

Throughout the course of the season, Texas State will play multiple in-state schools that it played last season, including UT Rio Grande Valley, Houston Christian and Incarnate Word.

Conference Slate

Texas State’s last conference slate in the Sun Belt begins with a weekend visit to Louisiana-Monroe in mid-March. The following weekend will have the Bobcats face off against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, where they will seek to continue their two-game win streak against the Cajuns.

Texas State will travel to Atlanta for the first time since 2022 to take on Georgia State. The Bobcats haven’t tangled with GSU since 2023, where the ‘Cats are entering the series riding on a seven-game winning streak against the Panthers.

Georgia Southern will come to town this time around after the Bobcats came away with just one victory in Statesboro, Ga., last season.

Troy will also visit San Marcos as one of the main contenders for the Sun Belt title. Since the teams last faced in Texas, where the Bobcats took the series in 2024, the Trojans have won three of four, including a conference tournament elimination game last May.

Texas State will have tough weekend slates back-to-back on the road in late April following Troy, where they will play Southern Miss and College World Series Runner-up Coastal Carolina.

To close out the season, Texas State will tussle with South Alabama and Arkansas State on the road, with its final regular-season series coming against Marshall at home.

The Bobcats will seek to end their final season in the SBC on a high note, with their campaign starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, at Bobcat Ballpark against the Niagara Purple Eagles. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
