The Chicago White Sox will definitely be looking to improve on the MLB campaign they had last year, when they finished with a 60-102 record and came last in the AL Central.

Chicago will go into the upcoming season with optimism that the signing of Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami will go a long way to making their squad a better team in 2026.

Murakami’s bidet suggestion

Upon his visit of the team facilities, Murakami noticed something which he wasn’t quite used to having come over from his native Japan.

“One thing that stood out, one thing he did notice is I think we didn’t have a bidet in our locker room,” general manager Chris Getz told MLB.com, as per Scott Merkin.

“That’s something that’s new to him, and we are putting one in. So, it was like, ‘Ok, that’s new. We can do that.’”

Getz and fans from the South Side of Chicago will be hopeful that this new, added and updated feature to the White Sox clubhouse will help Murakami get acclimated to the Major Leagues much sooner rather than later.

In his eight year tenure with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows in Japan’s NPB, Murakami recorded a total of 246 home runs, as per ESPN.

He was also named MVP in 2021 and in 2022 and during that 2022 campaign, Murakami enjoyed a record year with 56 homers, which was the most home runs hit in an NPB season by a player born in Japan, as per mlb.com.
