The Minnesota Twins have claimed right-handed pitcher Jackson Kowar off waivers from the Seattle Mariners, the club announced.

Kowar, 29, appeared in 15 games for Seattle last season, posting a 2–0 record with a 4.24 ERA across 17.0 innings. He allowed eight earned runs, issued seven walks, struck out 15 and held opposing hitters to a .222 batting average. At Triple-A Tacoma, Kowar made 16 appearances and went 1–0 with a 2.57 ERA over 14.0 innings, recording 15 strikeouts and limiting opponents to a .173 average.

A native of Weddington, North Carolina, Kowar was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the first round (33rd overall) of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Florida. He has pitched in parts of four major league seasons with the Royals (2021–23) and Mariners (2025), compiling a 4–6 record with an 8.21 ERA in 91.0 innings, along with three holds, 58 walks and 90 strikeouts.
