The 30-year-old Hawaii native split last season between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Toronto Blue Jays, joining the Jays after being selected off waivers at the end of August.

Kiner-Falefa played 19 games down the stretch of the season for the Jays and hit .233 with one home run and five RBI. He appeared in an additional 15 postseason games, collecting six hits and two doubles in 37 at-bats.

The stint was his second with the ball club after he signed a one-year deal with the Jays ahead of the 2024 season. He was traded to Pittsburgh later that summer at the trade deadline.

A career .262 hitter known for his defensive versatility, Kiner-Falefa has played a total of eight big-league seasons with the Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Blue Jays and Pirates.
