Blue Jays free agent Chris Bassitt is being predicted to sign with the Braves.

Now that we are in February, several of baseball’s top free agents have found their new homes. While this is the case, there are still some notable free agents left on the market who have yet to sign with their new teams.

Among the top players unsigned is Toronto Blue Jays free agent pitcher Chris Bassitt. The 11-year veteran is still a very solid pitcher at this stage of his career, so there is no question that he could be a strong fit on several teams. Because of this, he is undoubtedly a free agent to keep an eye on as we continue to get closer to the start of the 2026 season.

Now, a new interesting prediction has Bassitt moving on from the Blue Jays to sign with a club in the National League East.

Blue Jays Free Agent Chris Bassitt Predicted to Sign With Braves

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Zachary D. Rymer discussed the top MLB free agents still available for the taking. Among the players whom Rymer focused on in his piece was Bassitt. This is entirely understandable, as the 36-year-old is easily one of the best starting pitchers who is still without a contract.

Rymer also predicted that Bassitt would end up officially leaving the Blue Jays and sign with the Atlanta Braves.

“He’s a decent No. 4 on a contender, preferably one that can put a strong defense behind him. There’s one team like that which also happens to be overdue for a rotation addition,” Rymer wrote about the possibility of a Bassitt and Braves match.

Seeing the Braves being predicted as the eventual landing spot for Bassitt is understandable. There is no question that they could use another pitcher as they look to bounce back in 2026, and Bassitt would have the potential to provide the bottom half of their rotation with a nice upgrade because of it. Due to this, it would make a lot of sense if the Braves brought in Bassitt to help improve their pitching.

Bassitt just had a solid 2025 season with the Blue Jays, as he had an 11-9 record, a 3.96 ERA, and 166 strikeouts in 32 appearances for the American League East club. This was also the seventh time in eight seasons that Bassitt had an ERA under 4.00, so there is no question that he would give the Braves a solid and reliable pitcher if they successfully signed him.

Multiple Teams Have Been Connected to Bassitt This Winter

While Bassitt is being linked to the Braves, several other teams have been connected to the Blue Jays free agent this offseason. Besides Atlanta, clubs like the Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Guardians, and San Francisco Giants have all been linked to the veteran right-hander this winter.

With more of baseball’s top free agent pitchers getting signed, interest in Bassitt’s services could also increase from here. Due to this, the Braves should have plenty of competition for Bassitt, and it will be interesting to see if they can successfully sign him from here.
