FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — The MIAA announced the 2026 MIAA Baseball Preseason Poll following a vote of the league’s eight head coaches.

Albion was picked to finish sixth, while defending regular-season and tournament champion Adrian was selected as the preseason favorite.

The Britons concluded the 2025 season with a 10-11 MIAA record and a 17-19 overall mark.

Albion returns two-time All-MIAA outfielder Evan Schuster for his senior season after earning second team honors and being named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week on April 9. Sophomore catchers Gavin White and Carter Stahl also headline the Albion roster, while three transfers will look to become contributors.

Matt Rix has officially been named head coach of the Albion program after serving as interim last season. Rix previously spent 12 seasons as an assistant on the Britons’ staff. Gordie Theisen was also hired as assistant coach, bringing over 40 years of experience with him as former head coach at Siena Heights and assistant at Adrian, Hillsdale, GVSU and Newberry.
