Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is expected to miss significant time this ​spring after breaking ‌his right hamate bone during a live batting practice session, MLB.com reported on Wednesday.

An exact timetable ‌for ​Carroll’s recovery ⁠was not immediately ⁠known.

Carroll, 25, is reportedly scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday and will miss the ​upcoming World Baseball Classic. Team USA’s first ⁠game of the ⁠2026 competition is against ​Brazil in Pool B action ​on March 6 in Houston.

Carroll ‌batted .259 with a majors-best 17 triples to go along with 31 homers and ⁠84 RBIs last season.

The National League Rookie of the Year in ⁠2023 ‌and two-time All-Star, ⁠Carroll is hitting .258 with ​82 ‌homers and 248 RBIs ​in ⁠488 career games with the Diamondbacks, who picked him in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
