Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers Hall of Famers will deliver command on race day next month.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Two North Texas sports legends will give the command to start engines at the inaugural Java House Grand Prix of Arlington next month.

Pro Football Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware and National Baseball Hall of Famer Iván “Pudge” Rodríguez will serve as co-grand marshals for the March 15 event, organizers announced Wednesday. The former Dallas Cowboys linebacker and longtime Texas Rangers catcher will deliver the traditional “Drivers, start your engines!” ahead of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES main event.

Ware, the Cowboys’ all-time sack leader, was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and seven-time All-Pro during his career. Rodríguez anchored the Rangers for more than a decade, earning 13 Gold Glove Awards and the American League Most Valuable Player honor while helping lead the franchise to its first playoff appearance.

Event president Bill Miller said the two athletes embody North Texas sports excellence and community pride.

The race will feature a 2.73-mile temporary street circuit through Arlington’s Entertainment District, winding around AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field. Organizers say the weekend is expected to draw fans from across the country for racing, entertainment, and festival-style events.
