Ethan Cole, a Fond du Lac native and 2022 graduate of Winnebago Lutheran Academy, was selected last summer in the 20th round (587th overall) of the MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies. Before turning pro, Cole spent two summers pitching for his hometown Northwoods League team, the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, where he developed into one of the area’s most promising young arms. After being drafted, Cole began his professional journey in Arizona at the Rockies’ training facility. Following his initial work there, the organization had him take some planned rest due to his high workload during the college and summer seasons. With his arm recharged and his first steps in pro ball behind him, Cole now looks ahead with excitement to his first full spring training.

KFIZ Sports Nick Van Nocker recently caught up with Ethan to talk about his transition to professional baseball and what he’s been focusing on since being drafted.
