(Fort Myers, FL) — Spring training officially gets underway today for the Minnesota Twins in Florida. Pitchers and catchers are set to report to Fort Myers today to begin work outs under new manager Derek Shelton. Twins pitcher Pablo Lopez says he is feeling better right now than he has in his entire career and testing data backs it up. He says his pitches have an extra jump and his physical testing numbers are higher, as well. Twins position players are mandated to report to spring training by Monday, although many are already working out at the team’s complex. The Twins will have an exhibition against the University of Minnesota a week from tomorrow and officially open Grapefruit League play against Boston a week from Saturday. The regular season begins at Baltimore on March 26th. The Minnesota home opener comes against Tampa Bay on April 3rd at Target Field in Minneapolis. The Twins were 70-92 last year.
