The Kansas City Royals will be represented on a big stage as the 2026 World Baseball Classic features some of the game’s top talent from around the world. The tournament includes all four reigning MLB MVP and Cy Young Award winners and a record 78 MLB All-Stars across 20 national teams.

Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. returns to the United States roster after earning All-Star, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger honors in each of the past two seasons. Kansas City catcher Salvador Perez will also take part, captaining Venezuela as one of the team’s veteran leaders.

The U.S. roster leads the tournament with 22 MLB All-Stars, while the Dominican Republic and Japan are also among the favorites. In total, 190 players on MLB 40-man rosters are participating.

With Royals stars joining elite players from across the globe, the World Baseball Classic once again highlights international baseball while giving Kansas City fans familiar names to follow throughout the tournament.
