A leak on Major League Baseball’s official online store has seemingly confirmed a new alternate jersey that first surfaced last week, as well as adding another possible alternate into the mix.
As first posted to r/motorcitykitties on Reddit on Wednesday, February 11, it appears two new Tigers alts were posted to MLBshop.com early. One is the orange alternate jersey that first appeared in a trailer for MLB The Show 26 that was released on Tuesday, February 3. That jersey features the Tigers’ Old English D logo in navy blue on the left chest with a white outline.
The jersey also has navy blue, white and orange striping on the sleeve cuffs and collar. Names and numbers on the back are set in a navy blue standard block front with white outlines.

The surprise in the leak was a new dark Tigers jersey. It appears to be have a regular Nike jersey tag rather than a Cooperstown Collection tag, suggesting it’s intended to be worn on the field.
The base — which appears black in photos, but may be navy blue as indicated in the tweet below — has striping on the collar and sleeve cuffs in the same proportions as the orange alternate jersey. It features the Tigers’ script “Detroit” wordmark across the chest in orange with a white outlines. Names and numbers on the back are also orange with white outlines, though the numbers are set in a thicker, more retro-looking block font.
While the jerseys haven’t officially been released yet, the Tigers have hinted that something is coming on their social media platforms.
What do you think of these new Tigers alternates? Do they fit in well with the rest of the team’s uniforms? Let us know in the comments!
