The music superstar wanted the Astros third baseman on the team so badly that he was reportedly willing to pay up.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Spring Training continues for the Houston Astros. And out in West Palm Beach, there’s a whole lot of talk about the upcoming World Baseball Classic, especially for the Astros Carlos Correa

Correa won’t be on the roster for Puerto Rico,  despite getting a unique request from Puerto Rican megastar Bad Bunny.

It’s all over insurance. Correa is unable to play after insurance coverage was denied, given his medical history. Still, Correa says he feels good right now.

“The MRI says one thing, I feel another thing,” Correa said. “They call it asymptomatic, but at the same time, the insurance company doesn’t know how it feels, so they only rely on what the MRI says.”

That’s where Bad Bunny comes in. At one point, the music superstar even offered to pay for Correa’s insurance, he told us.

“It means a lot that he got involved and he tried to do everything possible,” Correa said.

In the end, Correa was advised not to accept that offer. It was really disappointing for him because he was hoping to experience the WBC with his kids.

“That’s the part that hurts me the most, because I wanted them to experience that with me,” he said.

But that’s the business of sports, right? Correa knows that. And while he is disappointed, he’s excited for what’s ahead for these Astros in 2026.
