Optimism is building in Toronto as the 2026 season approaches after making the World Series last year, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is a major reason for that.
The Blue Jays’ star recently spoke about the team’s offseason moves and the energy inside the clubhouse, making it known that he believes Toronto is positioned for a better and potentially more successful campaign.
“We acquired new players, great players. I think this is going to be more fun. I’m actually happier than last year. For whatever reason, I’m happier and feeling great. I have good feelings about this year,” he said, per Keegan Matheson.
While the Blue Jays made the World Series and had a real chance to win it, there were still ups and downs. Toronto’s front office responded by fixing parts of the roster in the hopes of building a better team around its star first baseman.
Just entering his prime, Guerrero has a chance to be protected like never before in this lineup. His ability to leave the yard at any moment has been as valuable as nearly every hitter in baseball and he should only get more opportunities to do so.
Beyond the lineup, the Blue Jays got better on the bump, signing Dylan Cease to a mega deal early in the offseason.
