SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The defending champions boast an experienced roster in 2026.
Class 3A State Title defense officially begins for the Wall Hawks, who open the 2026 regular season ranked No. 2 in the state behind London. The Hawks graduated just five seniors from their 2025 championship roster, and are ready to reload this season with an experienced lineup featuring ten seniors.
The quest for another state championship trip to Round Rock, Texas begins, but this isn’t the Hawks primary focus at the moment. Head coach Jeremy Gordon and his squad embrace a season-long process that starts with focusing on one game at a time. Nonetheless, Gordon and his squad are ready to go.
“The team chemistry is really special this year,” Gordon said. “We’ve got a lot of leaders. I think it’s going to be a group that leads collectively really well, and [we’re] just super excited. There’s a lot of experience and talent.
Hawks senior pitcher Gage Reichenau, who signed with North Central Texas College on Wednesday, is excited for one final high school season.
“I’m hopefully back at Round Rock,” Reichenau said. “We definitely have the team to do it, we’ve just got to take it one game at a time and see how it goes.”
The Hawks opened the new season at the Pflugerville ISD Tournament, recording a 7-0 win over Leander and 4-2 loss to Hendrickson.
