The Oregon baseball team got timely hitting and solid pitching to pick up a season sweep of Fort Atkinson in two Badger Large Conference games last week.
Oregon slid by Fort Atkinson 7-6 in a road game on Friday, May 2. That came on the heels of the Panthers topping the Blackhawks 9-0 in a conference home game on Tuesday, April 29, at Zach Field.
The Panthers rallied from a four-run deficit to clip Madison West 8-7 on Monday, May 5, at Mansfield Stadium. The Panthers have won three straight games and improve to 9-5, 5-3 Badger Large. Oregon is scheduled to play Mount Horeb at 11 a.m. on May 24, at American Family Field.
In order to play in Milwaukee, Oregon has to sell $12,500 of tickets. The team is currently $4,500 short of the goal. Tickets can be purchased to the game through a voucher system with the Brewers.

For the third time in two weeks, Oregon rallied to pull out a victory. The Panthers scored five runs in the seventh inning to clip Madison West.
Oregon scored two runs in the seventh on an error. Gavin Kupcho went 2-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI. Peyton Soule drove in two runs and Elliot Mueller scored two runs.
Oregon’s Ben Borchardt tossed 2 ⅓ shutout innings in relief and struck out three to earn the win. Dillon McCarthy started on the mound and surrendered four earned runs on two hits. He struck out three and walked four.
Oregon 7, Fort Atkinson 6
Ryan Dins had a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to propel the Panthers over the Blackhawks.
Oregon entered the seventh trailing 6-2. The Panthers scored five runs in the seventh to pull out the comeback victory.
Soule went 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI. Kupcho finished 2-for-4 at the plate and McCarthy knocked in two runs.
Landon Gladden pitched 4 â…” innings and gave up five earned runs on eight hits to get the win. He struck out three and walked two. Dins tossed 2 â…“ shutout innings in relief.
Oregon 9, Fort Atkinson 0
Soule pitched a four-hit shutout and Kupcho had four hits to lead Oregon past Fort Atkinson.
The Panthers scored all nine of their runs in the bottom of the first inning. Kupcho had a three-run triple. Mueller delivered an RBI single and Carson Gehrke had a three-run single.
Mueller went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Soule helped his own cause by driving in two runs.
On the mound, Soule struck out six and walked three to earn the win.
