The Boston Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 5-3 on Wednesday afternoon, February 25th and are set to take on the Tampa Bay Rays today, at 1 p.m.
In Wednesday’s game Boston scored 4 runs in the top of the 3rd and added a run in the 4th inning.
Roman Anthony who is set to be the 2026 leadoff hitter was 1-4 with a double and scored a run. Cedanne Rafaela was 1-4 with a double. Jarren Duran was 2-3. Kristian Campbell was 1-2. Carlos Varvaez was 1-1 with a run batted in. Wilyer Abreu was 1-3 with a run batted in.
Johan Oviedo making his Red Sox debut went 1.2 innings, walking 3 and striking out 1. Garrett Whitlock pitched an inning and struck out 1.

In Thursday’s game against Tampa Bay Garrett Crochet is set to make his Spring Training debut. Also set to pitch is Aroldis Chapman, Greg Weissert, Jovani Moran, Payton Tolle, Wyatt Olds and Devin Sweet.
Crochet has been named the Opening Day started. Last year, his 1st with the Red Sox he went 18-5 with a 2.59 earned run average. He had a major league leading 255 strike outs and was selected to the AL All-Star Team.
Boston is 3-2 while Tampa Bay is 2-3 in Spring Training games.
