HOT SPRINGS — The Glen Rose Beavers sparked in an impressive season-opener win Monday in a shutout victory against the Cutter Morning Star Eagles, 11-0
to begin the 2026 baseball season at Majestic Park in Hot Springs.
The Beavers opened the scoring in the first after a wild pitch scored one run, then added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Gage Hood doubled to the left side of the infield, with Weston Stanley walked and the Eagles committing an error, for Glen Rose to score on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Hood started on the hill for the Beavers. Hood surrendered two hits and gave up no runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking one.
B. Hall pitched two innings of shutout ball for Glen Rose in relief. Hall allowed no hits, striking out one and walking none. P. Johnson and W. Aaron each drove in one run for the Beavers. Stanley, Hood, Jonathan Vann, and Johnson each collected one hit for Glen Rose. The Beavers had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game.
Stanley and K. Wells led the team with two bases on balls each. Stanley, Hood, and Damien Stevens each stole multiple bases for Beavers as the team recorded nine stolen bases for the game.
The Beavers returned home for consecutive 4A match-ups that started Tuesday hosting Fountain Lake for their season-home opener and scheduled to square off against Bauxite Friday at the Glen Rose Sports Complex.
