Mizzou softball is now 0-2 in its series of games this weekend against No. 5/8 Florida, after losing 4-3 on Sunday. The Tigers have performed well offensively but have fallen apart as games have prolonged.

In the third inning, Missouri hit a trifecta of home runs from Kayley Lenger, Sidney Forrester and Abby Hay to take its 3-2 lead. Florida first baseman Jocelyn Erickson responded with a homer in the seventh inning to send the game into overtime.

Addy Waits gave a solid defensive performance, including running into the safety netting and falling into the dugout to foul out two hitters. She had three putouts the entire game.

Missouri held its own defensively until the bottom of the 11th, when former Tiger Madison Walker singled to left field to bring in the winning run for Florida.

In four innings of action, Cierra Harrison allowed two hits and two runs. Carr relieved her in the bottom of the fifth, allowing eight hits and two runs in 6.2 innings on the mound.

The Tigers will face Florida one more time at 6 p.m. Monday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.Â
