Kotaro Kiyomiya hit the ball all the way to the beach during batting practice on the 18th

Nippon-Ham infielder Kotaro Kiyomiya was involved in an accident on the 19th. He traveled to Chatan, Okinawa, where the practice game was held, by team bus, but left the stadium without participating in the pre-game practice.

Manager Tsuyoshi Shinjo revealed, “It seems there was some trouble while he was weighing in. It’s not that he was injured, but he just felt something was bothering him.”

When asked about the injury, he touched his elbow and other parts of his body and said, “Maybe it’s the elbow? Maybe it’s the shoulder? When I hear about the injury from the trainer, I get annoyed, so I stopped midway…I didn’t really ask where the injury was. I was so focused on what I was doing that I didn’t ask. At that point I was thinking about who to put in. That’s the information.”
