Miami, FL – International baseball competition is returning to South Florida as several games from the 2026 World Baseball Classic are scheduled to take place in Miami.
loanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins, is serving as one of the primary venues for the global tournament, which features national teams from around the world competing for the championship.
Miami is hosting Pool D games during the opening round of the tournament along with multiple elimination games later in the event.
Pool play in Miami includes teams from Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, the Netherlands, Israel, and Nicaragua.
The opening round matchups at loanDepot Park began March 6th and continue through March 9th.
During this stage, each team plays the others in its group in a round robin format.
Among the scheduled games, Venezuela and the Netherlands faced off in the opening matchup in Miami, followed later that day by Nicaragua playing the Dominican Republic.
Additional games include matchups such as Nicaragua against the Netherlands and Israel facing Venezuela.
The Dominican Republic is also scheduled to play the Netherlands while Israel faces Nicaragua during the pool stage.
The final day of group play in Miami includes the Dominican Republic competing against Israel and Venezuela taking on Nicaragua.
After pool play concludes, the top two teams from the group advance to the knockout stage of the tournament.
Miami will also host several elimination games later in the competition.
Quarterfinal games are scheduled to take place in mid March, followed by semifinal matchups and the tournament’s championship game at loanDepot Park.
