GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – Just over two weeks ago, Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff was set to rejoin the rotation in Milwaukee; now he’s making another rehab start in Grand Chute.
After pitching in a rehab start for the Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate, the Nashville Sounds, on Sunday, May 11, Woodruff was expected to finally rejoin the big league squad after 600+ days since his shoulder surgery.

Following his rehab start for the Sounds, Brewers manager Pat Murphy delivered the unfortunate news to the public, stating that Woodruff was dealing with tendinitis in his right ankle and his return to the big leagues would be delayed yet again.
Now, in a positive step in the right direction, “Big Woo” will return to the mound in Grand Chute for another rehab start with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Wednesday afternoon on May 28, with first pitch scheduled for 12:10 p.m.
So far this season, during his rehab appearances with the Timber Rattlers, the right-hander made two starts at the High-A level, resulting in a 1-1 record with a 2.79 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP through nine and two-thirds of an inning pitched.

Should the rehab in Grand Chute on Wednesday go well and there are no setbacks, Woodruff would then make a rehab start on June 3 for the Nashville Sounds, according to Brewers beat reporter Adam McCalvy.

The June 3 rehab start in Nashville, if all goes well, and again, barring any setbacks, has the potential to be his last rehab start before making his long-awaited return to the Brew Crew.
