BERLIN CENTER OH- Western Reserve standout Hunter Stacy has officially committed to continue his baseball career at Ohio Dominican University, fulfilling a childhood dream to play at the collegiate level. Stacy made the announcement during a special segment on the YSN Live podcast, sharing that Ohio Dominican’s tight-knit campus community felt like a perfect fit for him.

“Their campus is real small…only 1,200 kids throughout their entire school. So it kind of gives me a sense of how I feel at Reserve,” Stacy explained. Having grown up in a class of 48, the transition to a similar collegiate environment was a key factor in his decision. Stacy also highlighted the culture of the baseball program, noting the calm yet personable demeanor of both the coaching staff and players. “They kind of almost play like that friend role and leader in the same environment,” he said, expressing excitement about joining a high-energy team.

While Stacy is eager to hit the field, his academic plans are also in focus. He plans to start with exercise science, with potential interest in physical therapy, but is open to switching to finance if his interests change. With his college decision settled, Stacy now looks forward to focusing entirely on his senior season with Western Reserve. “It allows us to focus on the goal at hand, which is, in reality, to win a state championship,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to team success.

When asked about advice for younger athletes, Stacy encouraged them to “follow your dreams…no matter what people say, you can always push yourself to get to the level you want to obtain.” As Stacy wraps up a stellar high school career, Western Reserve and Ohio Dominican alike eagerly anticipate what the future holds for this talented and driven student-athlete.
