HOT SPRINGS — The Ouachita Warriors ignited a stellar outing on the diamond in Hot Springs last Thursday for tournament baseball play and powered their execution for the 9-2 win against the Foreman Gators at Majestic Park.

Ouachita won big over Foreman in the seven-run performance for the team’s first victory. 

Ouachita tallied seven hits with nine runs while defensively, the Gators allowed two runs on three hits.

The Warriors sparked early in the top half of the first when Maddox Kyzer singled, scoring one run.

The Warriors added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Tyler White tripled to right field, and Boe Bridges grounded out, each scoring one run.

Judd Smith led Ouachita offensively with three hits in three at bats. 

White and Kyzer each drove in two runs for Ouachita, while Jack Tugwell took command with two walks. The Warriors amassed seven walks for the game and ran wild on the base paths, amassing five stolen bases for the game. Bridges, Hunter Moore, Smith, Sylar Freeman and White each recorded a stolen base.

On the mound, White stepped brought the heat first for the Warriors, surrendered no hits and one run (non earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking two, faced 13 batters and threw 37 strikes.
