The White Sox hold the first pick in the draft, so there is reason to be excited about his future. One outlet is giving him a massive prediction, but what are they saying about the UCLA shortstop?
Projected top pick for the Chicago White Sox, Roch Cholowsky, gets massive praise in predictions

They made a bold prediction for the White Sox, even already having them selecting UCLA Bruins shortstop Roch Cholowsky. Below is what they predicted for the projected top pick:
“Not only will Cholowsky go No. 1 in the 2026 Draft, he’ll rank as the No. 3 overall prospect on the Top 100 Prospects list following his pro debut, trailing only fellow shortstops Jesús Made (Brewers) and Leo De Vries (Athletics). The best all-around college shortstop since Troy Tulowitzki, Cholowsky has launched nine homers in his first 16 games for UCLA this season. He’ll get a cup of coffee at Double-A this summer, setting him on course to reach Chicago at some point in 2027.”
The White Sox are in a position where they can get one of the top prospects since Paul Skenes in this year’s draft. Cholowsky is looking like a five-tool prospect in college baseball right now and has no signs of slowing down. In 16 games this season for UCLA, he’s posting a 1.322 OPS with nine homers, 26 RBI, and 22 runs scored.
He’s a second-generation baseball player and knows what this entails as a result. It will be intriguing to see if Chicago can land him and what Cholowsky’s future looks like.
