Bobby Witt Jr. and Vinnie Pasquantino are not only terrific ballplayers for the Royals and World Baseball Classic, they seem to be genuine friends. For the past two years, they have been roomies in spring training in Arizona in a house that they call “The Wittz-Carlton.”
MLB film crews caught up with the boys in their Arizona abode to see a day in the life.
Here are some of the highlights!
Bobby has a Bernedoodle that he keeps in the house. He’s a very good boy. Maybe he’s a solution to the outfield woes for the Royals? Ain’t no rule a dog can’t play baseball.
Vinnie’s room (what’s with the red?) has a “Bless This House with Love and Laughter” sign.
But how can Jets fan Vinnie Pasquantino live in a house with a picture of Tom Brady?
In camp, Vinnie drives a minivan. He’s basically a soccer mom, dropping Bobby off at practice. I hope he remembered to bring the orange slices.
George Brett has still got it
Vinnie got George to say the line!
Bobby is a card collector
Bobby is a big-time baseball card collector. ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
Vinnie is the chef of the house. And today’s special is dino nuggies. The dinner of champions.
Anyway, this needs to be a sitcom, where Bobby and Vinnie go around Arizona, crackin’ wise and solving crimes. Maybe with a wacky neighbor that always wants to play wiffle ball, played by Salvador Perez.
