The Athletics had quite a dominant inning in their high-scoring 13-9 loss to the San Diego Padres in Friday’s spring training matchup at Hohokam Stadium in Arizona.

In the fourth frame, the Green and Gold hit four home runs across five batters — in order, Henry Bolte, Breyson Guedez, Nick Kurtz and Tyler Soderstrom — scoring seven runs total.

The Athletics hit their first three homers against Padres right-handed pitcher Michael King; the last came against lefty Fernando Sanchez.

Regardless, you don’t see that every day.

The Padres hit four go-balls on the afternoon, too, bringing the game’s total to eight. However, they were spaced out over all nine innings, which simply isn’t as ridiculous.

While a win wasn’t in the cards for the Green and Gold, the Athletics still put on a show for the loyal fans who watched the 203-minute thriller in the Grand Canyon State.
