So, obviously for those of you that have been following spring the past couple weeks, you’ll know that several teams are without several key contributors, with the World Baseball Classic currently going on.

was a, seemed like he was, mingling pretty well with his former teammates and, you know, kind of, heartfelt to see that even with him not, being on the team this go around due to obviously things out of his control with the injury, that, you know, he’s still welcomed and still a, still a part of the team in some ways, you know, especially the team that, won the gold medal in, twenty-twenty-three.

the Cardinals are also trying out, several right-handed bats to potentially platoon in the outfield, such as, Jose Fermin, Thomas Seguis, and, Nelson Velasquez.

Seguis is another player currently away from the team, competing for Italy in the WBC, and Italy just advanced to the semifinal after an eight-six win over Puerto Rico, which is managed by St. Louis Cardinals great, Yadier Molina.

So, still, even if he’s not playing games and, really just, beginning the running program now, it’s encouraging to see, Newbar in good spirits after undergoing this surgery.

So just seeing him, you know, interacting and in good spirits with various other players, even if it’s not necessarily what the Cardinals is encouraging to see, and it will definitely be interesting to see where the team is when Newbar does return, as those aforementioned players and more look to carve out a permanent role on this team that will, really give everyone a fair shake as it is currently in a rebuilding stage.
