NACOGDOCHES – Jacksonville scored 10 runs in the top of the sixth inning to defeat Nacogdoches 19-14 in District 10-5A play Friday.
The two teams combined for 26 hits.
Hannah Gonzalez banged out three hits, including a pair of doubles and drove in four runs for the Maidens (3-11, 1-3).
Other Maidens that had a multi-hit game included: Emily Wardell (3 hits, including a doubles, 2 RBI), Bailey Tarrent (3 singles) and Lacy Whetsell (double, single, RBI).
Gretchen Ault had a base hit and drove in a run for Jacksonville.
Ault pitched four innings in relief of Jaylee Dominey and was credited with the win in the circle.
She gave up six runs, two earned, on seven hits, walked one and fanned two Lady Dragons (6-7-1, 0-5).
At 7 p.m. Tuesday the Maidens will conclude the first half of league play by hosting Hallsville.
