Team Dominican Republic and Team USA are playing in the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic on Sunday night. Ahead of the game, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports shared a report about the Dominican Republic team, revealing what star outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. said about the team’s lineup.

Fernando Tatis Jr. said the Dominican lineup is like a bunch of superheroes,” Rosenthal said. “Nine Batmen if you will.”

Regardless of what ends up happening on Sunday night, there is no question that Team Dominican Republic’s lineup is among the best in the WBC. Team USA likely features the best overall team. Their lineup is also impressive, while their pitching is tremendous as well. When it comes to the conversation of only offensive talent, though, Team Dominican Republic may be at the top of the list.

Tatis is joined by stars such as Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Junior Caminero. There are players who are more than capable of finding success throughout the entire lineup.

Tatis has performed well during the World Baseball Classic. The San Diego Padres outfielder is one of the best players on the Dominican Republic team. He is hitting over .300 to go along with two home runs and 11 RBIs. Tatis crushed a grand slam earlier in the tournament as well.

He has come through in the clutch on a consistent basis. Tatis is always ready for the big moment — whether it is with the Padres or Team Dominican Republic.

Tatis is a star in MLB without question. In 2025, he earned the third All-Star selection of his big league career. Tatis slashed .268/.368/.446 to go along with an .814 OPS, 25 home runs, 81 RBIs, 111 runs scored and 32 stolen bases. He is hoping to lead the Padres to a deep postseason run in 2026. At the moment, however, he is focused on helping Team Dominican Republic at the World Baseball Classic.

“So many great players, so many Hall of Famers have put the Dominican Republic on their chest,” Tatis previously said of representing the Dominican Republic, via the World Baseball Classic’s X (formerly Twitter) account. “Being able to have that opportunity is just top of the shelf.”

Tatis and Team Dominican Republic will attempt to defeat a talented Team USA squad on Sunday night. The game is expected to be competitive to say the least.
