PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Delicious new meals were unveiled at Chase Field as baseball season begins, and the options are definitely a home run!
Arizona Diamondbacks President & CEO Derrick Hall covered all the bases — from new food to exciting giveaways to themed merchandise. Opening Day kicks off on March 30 as the Diamondbacks host the Detroit Tigers.
Fans can enjoy warm, chocolate chip cookies as Chase Field welcomes Cathy’s Cookies to the ballpark this year, which will be located in sections 104 and 308.
Four new items are being added to the budget-friendly menu, all priced between $7.99 and $8.99. Fans can grab chili cheese fries at Red Hots, Parmesan ranch fries at Jefferson Street Deli, a chili cheese dog at Big Dogs, or a chicken tender wrap at Gonzo’s Grill.
Guests can munch on a barbecue brigade, complete with a giant stuffed potato and pulled pork. Or enjoy some St. Louis barbecue ribs, coleslaw, mac and cheese and pickles.
At D-backs BBQ Alley, located in section 114, fans can get loaded mac and cheese bowls with either burnt-end brisket or pulled pork with barbecue. The BK Philly will feature chopped brisket with a habanero cheese sauce and topped with onions, poblanos and pico.
Fans who like a little spice can head to Red Hots to try nachos with chorizo and “venom sauce.”
On the upper concourse, fans can grab a hand-dipped foot-long corn dog or a street corn dog topped with chipotle aioli, cotija cheese and lime.
More vegetarian and vegan options will be available this year, such as vegetarian nachos, plant-powered burrito bowls and soy chorizo.
If you’re in the mood for a delicious sandwich, head over to Jefferson Street Deli and get a classic pastrami sandwich or the classic Italian “Big Bella.” If you want to share with a group, get the “50/50 stretch” — a 20-inch baguette that is half chicken parmesan, half hot pastrami, all loaded with kettle chips.

Hall says fans will notice upgraded ribbon boards and two newly installed ribbon boards above the press box and upper deck. The largest scoreboard in the state of Arizona also sits inside Chase Field, measuring 9,600 square feet, 63 feet high and 152 feet wide!
Long-term improvements were also made in the offseason to ensure fans have a great game day experience when they go to Chase Field. Along with the new ribbon boards, crews completed roof cable replacements and installed a new exterior sound system.
The Diamondbacks have a home run lineup of giveaways this year, including one that pays homage to the 2001 championship team! As the Snakes host the New York Yankees on Sept. 19, the first 25,000 fans will get a free 2001 throwback jersey.
In addition, some players from the original 2001 team will be in attendance for the 25th anniversary, including legend Luis Gonzalez.
“We are very excited…a lot of my former teammates about the 2001 celebration, 25 years now. We continue to have a group chat, very tight-knit bunch of guys, and everyone is super excited to come back here to be a part of the celebration,” Gonzo said.
Some players, like Craig Counsell, who now manages the Chicago Cubs, unfortunately won’t be in attendance, but Gonzalez says nearly the entire squad is getting together.
“I would say over 90% of the guys are all going to be here, and everyone is looking forward to it,” he added.
Other exciting giveaways include a Corbin Carroll 30/30 bobblehead, a Gabriel Moreno soccer jersey, a Geraldo Perdomo bobblehead and Merrill Kelly’s first-ever bobblehead. Star Wars fans won’t want to miss out this year to snag a Gabriel Moreno Mandalorian bobblehead, complete with Grogu!
