BETHEL — The Mildred Eagles baseball team was unable to hold onto an early lead as the Eagles fell to the Cayuga Wildcats by the score of 6-2 on Monday in Bethel.Â
The Eagles scored both of their runs in the top of the second inning, with Luke McKendree leading off the inning, reaching on a hit-by-pitch. McKendree stole second base and was then replaced by Dane Anderson as a courtesy runner. Braydon Spurlock followed with a hard hit groundball to second base. He reached base, and Anderson scored when the first baseman was unable to corral the throw. Spulock later scored on another error when another throw went awry.Â
