The Dodgers and Angels will play in Southern California for the first time in 2026 Sunday evening when they meet at Angel Stadium to begin the three-game Freeway Series.

Tyler Glasnow will start for the Dodgers in the spring training game against fellow right-hander George Klassen, a non-roster invitee to spring training.

Glasnow was 4-3 with a 3.19 ERA in 18 starts in the 2025 regular season and no record with a 1.69 ERA in six postseason appearances, including three starts. He was on the injured list from April 28 to July 9 because of right shoulder inflammation.

Klassen pitched nearly the entire 2025 season with the Rocket City Trash Pandas, the Angels’ Double-A Southern League affiliate, with a 4-12 record and 5.35 ERA in 24 starts. He also made one start with the Salt Lake City Bees, the Angels’ Triple-A Pacific Coast League affiliate, allowing two runs in six innings and not figuring in the decision.

Klassen is 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA in four spring training appearances, including three starts.

The Dodgers have the best record in the Cactus League, 19-8. The Angels have the fourth-best record, 16-14.

The 6:07 p.m. game will be telecast on SportsNet LA.

The final two games of the Freeway Series will be played Monday and Tuesday at Dodger Stadium.

The Angels lead the series that began in 1962, 78-59, with fve games ending in ties. The Dodgers won two of the three games in 2024.

Spring training games that are tied after nine innings are customarily called once the day’s scheduled pitchers have been used.

The back-to-back World Series champion Dodgers will open regular season Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.

The Angels will open the regular season Thursday in Houston. Their home opener will be April 3 against the Seattle Mariners.

The Angels have finished last in the five-team American League West each of the past two seasons.
