The Philadelphia Phillies already have one of the more dangerous lineups in baseball, but adding another proven bat would push them into another tier. There have been times over the past few years when, in the playoffs, the Phillies’ offense just goes quiet for some reason.

A lot of it is due to some of the strikeouts that they’ve dealt with, so adding certain players wouldn’t help, but adding a star with some juice would be a nice step.

Sports Illustrated’s Ryan Shea wants the Phillies to make a trade, and proposed a deal that would send Randy Arozarena to Philadelphia in exchange for Brandon Marsh, pitching prospect Cade Obermueller, and shortstop prospect Devin Saltiban.

“The Phillies would target Randy Arozarena because he offers an immediate upgrade to their lineup, adding a proven, multi-category star alongside Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Trea Turner. His combination of power, speed, and on-base ability strengthens the middle of the order, boosts run production, and increases RBI opportunities,” he wrote.

Arozarena has once shown to be one of the best playoff performers in baseball, so for a Phillies team that’s struggled when it matters most, it’s not the worst idea to bring in somebody who has proven what he has.

There’s also been some chatter about him not being too happy with his teammates on the Seattle Mariners due to what happened at the World Baseball Classic.

However, it’s also important to remember that the Mariners are trying to win a World Series, and trading him doesn’t necessarily help them get any closer to that.
