And while the Loonie Dog should remain the viral sensation at every Tuesday night home game at the downtown Toronto dome, there should be something for everyone at every game.

Among the new eats making their debuts this year are a few new hot dog options — the ACE Dog and an Al Pastor Dog — some fresh spins on fries and sliders, as well as a potential new fan-favourite sweet treat.

While the Al Pastor Dog is a new take, basically combining a hot dog with Mexican-inspired toppings — pork, pineapple and chilis — the ACE Dog is a bit more interesting. Named after the Blue Jays’ mascot, the dog is topped with nacho cheese, chips, onions and bacon.

After adding a sweet treat version of French fries to the menu last year — cotton candy fries, anyone? — this year the team is keeping it more on the savoury side. The new bulgogi fries should bring fans of this Korean favourite out of their seats.

If you’re looking for a hand-held treat for fans of any age, the Rogers Centre is offering a new twist on Uncrustables – the snack that went viral last year thanks to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer’s ‘J&PB’ ad campaign. This year’s version is a French Toast twist, served with some whipped cream and a sliced strawberry to boot.

If last year’s offerings were any indication, these new twists on the kid-friendly favourite should be in high demand.

True story: Twice last season, pre-game, I went up to order an Uncrustable, only to be told there weren’t any available. I can’t even land an Uncrustable on site (have never had one before), let alone begin to worry about setting my sights on a new elevated Uncrustable offering.

Another long-awaited addition to the incredibly diverse menus around Rogers Centre is beef and chicken shawarma. The Middle Eastern classic comes in either a bowl or a wrap – for those who want to keep one hand free for potential incoming foul balls.

What is a Grub Tub?

Fans of the Grub Tub will be getting another option for this coming season. The bucket – which was a great add to concessions last year for those looking to share, or perhaps simply indulge – debuted with either chicken fingers or brisket sliders. Now, the third Grub Tub will feature Cubano sliders, for those looking for a Latino flavour.

That’s not all either, with the team also putting garlic knots, a meatball panini, the Big Slugger burger as well as fish and chips on the menu for 2026. Combining all these new options with the already-vast variety of food options – including all the traditional ball park favourites – should ensure that no fan is left starving for choice.

When is Opening Day?

The Blue Jays kick off their season on Friday night against the Athletics, with first pitch set for 7:07 p.m.

There will be on-field pre-game ceremonies to honour the team’s 50th season – with celebrations occurring throughout the 2026 campaign – and a banner-raising for the team’s ALCS title last year.

Kevin Gausman will get the start for the Jays while Luis Severino gets the ball for the visitors.
