The Boston Red Sox are back. Opening Day is here, and Boston opens the 2026 season on the road in Cincinnati, where Garrett Crochet takes the mound against the Reds at 4:10 p.m. ET at Great American Ball Park. Coverage for the game is on NESN, and can be streamed on NESN 360 and Fubo.

It has been a busy few weeks. Spring training introduced several new faces, and the World Baseball Classic gave fans a early taste of what this roster can do. Now the games count.

For fans who can’t be at the ballpark, here is everything you need to know about how to watch the Red Sox today and throughout the entire season.

How to Watch on Cable in 2026

NESN carries the bulk of the Red Sox schedule and is available through most major cable providers. Xfinity, Verizon, DirecTV, Cox, and Spectrum among them. Head to NESN.com for a full provider list.

Coverage extends across New England, although Fairfield County, CT is excluded from the broadcast territory. Beyond NESN, Boston will pop up on national television throughout the year via ESPN, Fox, TBS, and NBC.

How to Watch Without Cable in 2026

For fans without a traditional cable package, there are several solid options.

NESN 360 is the simplest cord-cutting solution for New England fans. The app streams NESN live around the clock on smart TVs and mobile devices, covering the full Red Sox schedule within the broadcast territory minus Fairfield County, CT. Sign in through a TV provider that carries NESN, or go direct at $29.99 monthly or $239.99 for the year.

FuboTV and DirecTV Stream both carry NESN as well, with blackout restrictions depending on location. Fubo has a free trial available for new subscribers.

Friday nights belong to Apple TV+ this season. That’s two exclusive MLB games per week, no local blackouts. The Red Sox face Detroit on April 17 in their Apple TV+ appearance. The service runs $12.99 per month with a one-week free trial available. Save it for that week.

For the national schedule: TBS has Tuesdays, Apple TV+ owns Friday nights, Fox takes Saturday nights, Peacock gets Sunday mornings from May 3 onwards, and NBC carries Sunday nights.

NESN is not currently available on Hulu, Sling TV, or YouTube TV.

How to Watch Out of Market

Living outside New England doesn’t mean missing out on the Red Sox. MLB.TV covers every out-of-market game live or on demand and is now purchased through the ESPN App. New subscribers get a free one-month ESPN Unlimited trial included. Standard pricing sits at $149.99 for the season, though existing ESPN Unlimited subscribers pay $134.99. T-Mobile customers should check the T-Life app. Eligible accounts get MLB.TV free this season.

Blackout restrictions mean New England-based subscribers cannot use MLB.TV to watch Red Sox home games.

How to Watch From Overseas

MLB.TV is the go-to option for most international Red Sox fans, accessible outside the United States for the full regular season schedule. Apple TV+ Friday Night Baseball is also worth bookmarking. It is available in 60 countries with no local blackouts, it offers two games every Friday night throughout the season.
