Double-A San Antonio announced its season-opening roster, which incudes two of the top-three Padres prospects as ranked by MLB.com.

Catcher Ethan Salas and right-hander Miguel Mendez, ranked No. 2 and No. 3, are returning to the Texas League to start 2026.

Salas played just 10 games last year for the Missions before he was sidelined by a back injury. Mendez finished the year the Missions before he was added to the 40-man roster after the season.

Other top-30 Padres prospects beginning the season with the Missions include outfielder Braedon Karpathios (12), left-hander Jagger Haynes (15), left-hander Luis Gutierrez (20) and first baseman Romeo Sanabria.
