According to the City of Cleveland, parking restrictions will take effect at 9 a.m. on April 3 and continue through midnight.
“Large crowds are expected, and as such, road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect,” said the City of Cleveland in a press release. “Please note that all information is subject to change based on real-time traffic and pedestrian conditions. The Cleveland Division of Police Bureau of Traffic may adjust road closures and parking restrictions as needed to ensure public safety.”
Any vehicle found to violate these restrictions will be ticketed and towed. If your vehicle is towed, it can be retrieved from the City of Cleveland’s Impound Unit located at 3040 Quigley Rd.
The City of Cleveland recommends fans use public transit to ease traffic during the Guardians’ home opener.
In addition, there will be “Special Event Zones,” where parking will be $8 per hour. These zones will be activated during games, concerts and other special events.

“These zones only include a limited number of streets and are significantly cheaper than event rates at any privately-owned parking lot/garage in the city,” according to the City of Cleveland. “The updated rates will be reflected on ParkMobile, and users can pay in the app, online, or by phone via text/call.”
The “Special Event Zones” will begin two hours before events and will be in effect until the conclusion of the event or until 10 p.m., whichever comes first.
The Guardians will take on the Chicago Cubs in Cleveland’s home opener with a start time of 4:10 p.m.
