NAPOLEON — Makena Thiel pitched a no-hitter, as Archbold blanked the Lady Cats 9-0 Saturday afternoon at the Ballpark on Glenwood.

Thiel allowed five walks and struck out 13 while shutting out Napoleon. She also had a hit and two RBI at the plate.

The Lady Streaks opened the scoring with a run in the first inning and then added six runs in the second. They added a run in the fourth and seventh innings.

Meg Ames led Archold’s offense, going 3 for 3 with two RBI. Raegan Gerken was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI, while Madi Bowers and Adi Kinsman each had two hits. Charlee Forward was 1 for 5 with two RBI.

Kendall Horner took the loss for Napoleon, going seven innings and allowing nine runs — eight earned — on 12 hits and two walks. She struck out five.

Archbold (5-0) hosts Tinora today, while Napoleon (1-1) travels to Wauseon Thursday.

Miller City 6, Liberty Center 0

LIBERTY CENTER — The Lady Tigers were held scoreless Saturday, falling 6-0 to Miller City in nonleague play.

Bailey Crow led Liberty Center with a pair of hits, including a double, while Madison Foster and Bridget Capretta both singled once.

Ella Miller took the loss, allowing six runs on 11 hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings. Mackenzie Fuller allowed one hit and one walk with eight strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings of relief.

LC, now 0-2, hosts Otsego today.

Patrick Henry 17, Kalida 3

KALIDA — Patrick Henry started the season strong Saturday, racing past Kalida for a 17-3 nonleague win.

The Lady Patriots were guided by three players with three hits apiece, as Mariyah Garcia singled twice with a double, while Aviana Hahn and Sophie Schwab both had three singles and three RBI.

Peyton Wensink (one RBI) and Shealin Schmeltz both singled twice, while Elise Wyandt had a triple with two RBI and Summer James doubled and scored four runs.

Schmeltz nabbed the win, allowing three runs — one earned — on seven hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

PH (1-0) hosts Miller City today.

Archbold 7, Ottawa-Glandorf 4

ARCHBOLD — Archbold overcame five errors to take down Ottawa-Glandorf with a 7-4 nonleague win Saturday.

Ethan Bowman (3 RBI) and Max Burrowes (2 RBI) both singled and combined to drive in five runs to lead the Bluestreaks, while Harrison Wyse roped a double.

Jace Castillo earned the win, allowing two unearned runs on four hits with two walks and seven strikeouts across six innings.

Archbold (1-0), which scored three runs in the fourth and fifth frames, travels to Edgerton today.

METAMORA — Evergreen scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game before Chris Shrader belted a walk-off RBI single in the eighth inning to lift the Vikings to a 6-5 win over Genoa.

Shrader fronted the Vikings with three hits, including a double with an RBI. He also earned the victory on the mound, allowing one unearned run with four walks and six strikeouts across 3 2/3 hitless innings of relief.

Brendan Holman singled three times, Nolan Hudik had a single and a double and Blake Boucher singled with a pair of RBI. Austin Burghardt walked three times.

Evergreen, now 1-1, hosts Montpelier today.

Liberty Center 11, Continental 0

CONTINENTAL — Mason Smith fired a no-hitter and Liberty Center’s offense plated 11 runs across the fifth and sixth innings to earn an 11-0 six-inning win over Continental.

Smith walked one and struck out eight in the win, while adding two singles and two RBI at the plate.

Tatum Murdock added a single and a game-best three RBI for the Tigers, while Henry Fitzenreiter doubled and knocked in two runs.

LC (1-0) travels to Edon today.

Otsego 5, Patrick Henry 0

TONTOGANY — Patrick Henry was held scoreless in its season opener Saturday, facing 5-0 to host Otsego in nonleague play.

Mack Hieber had two of the Patriots’ four hits with a pair of singles and added three innings of relief, allowing two unearned runs on two hits with zero walks and six strikeouts.

Cal Schroeder suffered the loss, allowing three runs — one earned — with three hits, four walks and three strikeouts.

PH (0-1) hosts Miller City today.

CINCINNATI — Maderia scored three runs in the first inning and shut out Napoleon, as the Wildcats fell 8-0 in their season opener Saturday at Madeira High School.

Max Shadle and Carter Bowen each were 2 for 3 to pace Napoleon at the plate, while Nolan Bickel and Paul Sausser each went 1 for 3.

Sausser took the loss, going four innings and allowing five runs on six hits and three walks, while striking out three. Bickel and Jax Rocha each pitched an inning of relief.

Napoleon (0-1) hosts Bryan Tuesday.
