Giants RHP Landen Roupp (2026 debut)Â Â |Â Â The third-year starter has a 3.73 ERA in 157 innings since making his debut in 2024, striking out 149 batters while fashioning a 1.45 WHIP. He has a 3.86 ERA in 21 innings against the Padres, but allowed nine runs in 13 innings across three starts last year. Nick Castellanos, Gavin Sheets and Manny Machado accounted for three of the 13 homers that Roupp allowed last year.
Padres RHP Walker Buehler (2026 debut)Â Â |Â Â The longtime Dodger had a 4.93 ERA over 126 innings last year while with the Red Sox and Phillies. Buehler is 7-2 with a 2.79 ERA in 14 games (12 starts) against the Giants in the regular season, but he has not faced them since 2022. Buehler has a 2.18 ERA in six starts at Petco Park.

Giants RHP Logan Webb (0-1, 10.80 ERA)  |  The two-time All-Star struck out seven but allowed seven runs — six earned — in five innings in a loss to the Yankees on opening day. Webb has a 3.15 ERA over 100 career innings against the Padres, but he lost two of his three starts (4.19 ERA) last year against San Diego.
Padres RHP Germán Márquez (2026 debut)  |  The longtime Rockie has a 6.70 ERA in 130⅓ innings since his 2023 elbow reconstruction. Márquez has a 7.06 ERA in 20 career starts against the Giants and a 4.88 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) in his career at Petco Park. Márquez had a 5.17 ERA in his career at Coors Field.

Giants RHP Adrian Houser (2026 debut)Â Â |Â Â He went 8-5 with a 3.31 ERA in 125 innings split between the White Sox and Rays. Houser signed a two-year, $22 million deal with the Giants in December. He has a 3.00 ERA in 33 innings against the Padres. His last start against them was in 2023, when he allowed four runs in two innings.
Padres RHP Nick Pivetta (0-1, 18.00 ERA)  |  The Padres’ opening day starter allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks in three innings in the loss. Four runs scored in the first inning. Pivetta has a 4.34 ERA in 37⅓ career innings against the Giants. He made four starts against them last year, going 3-0 with a 3.75 ERA.

San Francisco: Of the pitchers on the injured list, RHP Jason Foley (shoulder surgery) could return by midseason, RHP Joel Peguero (hamstring) could return in the first half and LHP Reiver Sanmartin (hip) should return this summer. LHP Sam Hentges (shoulder/knee) remains without a timetable. RHP Hayden Birdsong (forearm/UCL), RHP Randy Rodriguez (elbow) and RHP Rowan Wick (Tommy John) are out until next season.
San Diego: RHPs Jason Adam (quad) and Matt Waldron (surgery) and INF Sung-Mun Song (oblique) are rehabbing at Triple-A El Paso. LHP Yuki Matsui (groin) returned to Arizona throw at least one more sim game before starting a rehab assignment. RHP Griffin Canning (Achilles) is expected to start a rehab assignment this week, while RHP Joe Musgrove (Tommy John) has resumed playing catch.
