Did Royals new City Connect uniforms leak with nods to Kansas City flag?

Seems like there are a lot of MLB City Connect uniform announcements coming or leaks that are being shared a lot on social media.

The latest? We’ve got some new Kansas City Royals City Connect threads that appear to have been shared. From what I can tell, it’s a red (or is that purple?) and blue piping with a large old school-looking “R” logo on the top left with a jersey number on the lower front. There’s some “Hey Hey Hey Hey” on the collar, a nod to the Beatles’ “Kansas City/Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey” that plays at Kauffman Stadium after wins.

Someone wondered if this was meant to be a nod to the Kansas City flag and logo. It could be! I’ll say this design could be divisive. But it’s growing on me.
