EASTERN — Floyd Central pulled away to defeat Shelby Valley 14-4 in five innings on Saturday, March 28.
Following the win, Floyd Central moved to 5-1.

Whitley Hall pitched for Floyd Central and earned the win in the circle. Hall recorded three strikeouts.
Khloe Milam started in the circle for Shelby Valley and took the loss.
Following Milam, Shelby Valley sent Kourtlyn Bell and Chellsea Holbrook out to pitch in relief.
Floyd Central scored 14 runs on 13 hits. Hall (two hits, one RBI), Cadyn Roberson (three hits, four RBIs), Reagan Laferty (two hits, three RBIs), Brooklyn Lewis (one hit, two RBIs), Mia-Queen Gilliam (one hit, one RBI), Brooklyn Sammons (one hit, one RBI), Maddy Engle (one hit), Adalyn Hall (one hit) and Delilah Rodriguez (one hit) each thrived offensively for the Lady Jaguars. Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Hall doubled. In addition to Hall, both Roberson and Sammons doubled in Floyd Central’s winning effort.
Shelby Valley plated four runs on eight hits. Milam (one hit), Holbrook (two hits, one RBI), Isabelle Bowling (two hits), Kaydence Dotson (one hit, one RBI), Abby Little (one hit, one RBI) and Katie Hall (one hit) chipped in offensively for the visiting team. Both Holbrook and Bowling doubled.
Floyd Central is scheduled to visit Shelby Valley for a game in the second half of the 2026 high school softball season on Tuesday, May 5.

Maddy Engle pitched a complete game for Floyd Central and earned the win in the circle. Engle recorded four strikeouts.
Floyd Central scored seven runs on nine hits. Engle (one hit), Reagan Laferty (two hits, three RBIs), Adalyn Hall (two hits, two RBIs), Cadyn Roberson (two hits), Mia Queen-Gilliam (one hit) and Brooklyn Lewis (one hit) aided Floyd Central offensively. Floyd Central’s offensive attack included doubles from Engle, Laferty and Queen-Gilliam.
