Tigers' lineup vs. Diamondbacks as Tarik Skubal makes second start

The Tigers will try to avoid a three-game sweep by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday and they will deploy their ace for the job.

Tarik Skubal (1-0, 0.00 ERA) makes his second start for the 3:40 p.m. first pitch in Phoenix. He will be opposed by Zac Gallen.

Skubal gave up three hits and an unearned run and struck out six in the Tigers’ 8-2 victory in San Diego on Opening Day.

Gallen (0-1, 9.00 ERA), who lost to the Dodgers, 8-2, in his first start, has made two career starts against the Tigers, going 0-1 with a 5.84 ERA. Skubal has faced Arizona once, giving up one hit in six innings of a 13-0 victory in Phoenix in 2024.
