Tennessee baseball will debut their dark mode jerseys for the first time this season on Saturday when the Vols play host to LSU at 6 p.m. ET from Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Mike Monaco, Kyle Peterson and VFL Chris Burke.

The program has showcased the black alternate jersey design – with Vols in block orange letters across the chest with white pants and a black hat with interlocking UT logo – for some of the biggest games over the past decade.

Tennessee wore the uniform design for the 6-5 win over Texas A&M in Game 3 of the 2024 College World Series championship series.

Cam Appenzeller named to prestigious watch lists

Tennessee baseball star left-handed pitcher Cam Appenzeller has earned a spot on a couple of prestigious midseason teams and watch lists that were announced Wednesday morning.

The southpaw was named one of 15 players on the Baseball America Freshman of the Year Watch list and was also tabbed to the Perfect Game Midseason Freshman All-American Team.

The full Baseball America Freshman of the Year Midseason Watch List can be found HERE while all of Perfect Game’s Midseason All-America teams can be seen HERE.

In three Southeastern Conference appearances, the southpaw has pitched 13.1 innings of scoreless baseball, giving up eight hits with 13 strikeouts to just one walk. Appenzeller owns a 3-0 record on the season with a 1.37 ERA across 26.1 innings pitched with 29 strikeouts and only four walks. Opponents are hitting just .180 against him.

Appenzeller was considered the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2025 Perfect Game rankings and the third-ranked left-handed pitcher. The lefty was tabbed the No. 3 player in Illinois and was drafted in the 19th round by the Seattle Mariners last summer in the 2025 MLB Draft.

The high school standout was viewed as an early round draft prospect and considered a draft risk, but Tony Vitello and Josh Elander were able to get him to campus.
