The Regional Transportation District is boosting light rail service and placing outreach teams at Denver Union Station to help fans attending the Colorado Rockies’ first home game of the 2026 season Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies at Coors Field.
The agency anticipates higher ridership for the April 3 game and other weekend events in downtown Denver. It is adding capacity to the D, E and W light rail lines through the weekend.
RTD urges customers to use its Next Ride trip planning app and enter “Coors Field” or “Rockies” in the destination field. The app displays real-time transit options and available train and bus routes from the user’s location to the stadium.
All RTD services will operate on regular schedules. Customers should check the agency’s website or sign up for Service Alerts to stay informed of any updates.
Rail service to Denver Union Station includes lines A, B, E, G, N and W, RTD stated. Final train times may change, and riders are advised to consult the Next Ride app for the most current schedules.
Bus routes serving the Coors Field area or Union Station include the 120X at Park Avenue West and Wewatta Street and Wewatta and 21st streets; the 38 at Park Avenue West and Wewatta; the 52 at 20th and Blake Streets; and additional stops for routes 52, RX, 8 and 38 near Larimer and Market streets.
RTD will host a block party with its Impact Team from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Union Station. Team members will assist customers with wayfinding, ticket purchases and trip planning near the rail platform and inside the station.
Game-day tips from RTD include planning ahead for large crowds, purchasing a Day Pass through the MyRide app or using Tap-n-Ride contactless payment with credit, debit or mobile wallet, following the RTD Code of Conduct, and reviewing the agency’s Safety and Security webpage at RTD’s website.
Safety concerns can be reported 24/7 to RTD Transit Watch via the Elert form on the RTD website, by calling (303) 299-2911 or texting (303) 434-9100.
