The Boston Red Sox are off to a 1-5 start, but have a chance to turn things around after an off day.

After spending the first six games of the season on the road, the Red Sox will finally play at Fenway Park on Friday. The offense has not gotten going yet, and Caleb Durbin’s 0-for-18 start has many fans questioning the move to add him. However, Durbin’s attitude going into the home opener is still positive.

Durbin has been very vocal about how appreciative he is to play for a historic franchise like the Red Sox. Before the home opener, he spoke about the fans and how he wants to show out for them.

“It’s going to be great,” Durbin told The Boston Globe’s Alex Speier on Thursday. “It’s gonna be electric. I know the fans are going to show up,” said Durbin, who at 0 for 18 is still looking for his first hit with the Sox. “Those fans are special. They’re special, so definitely want to go out and show out for them and gonna bring a lot of energy.”

The Red Sox do have a special fan base that is heavily invested in the team. Durbin was acquired to help cover the loss of Alex Bregman, but he has not gotten going yet. However, he had a very strong rookie season, and his swing could play very well at home.

He pulls the ball in the air often as a right-handed hitter. That, paired with the Green Monster, could make him a great hitter at Fenway Park, and he will get his first opportunity to showcase that on Friday.
