One day after it was first reported that the Pittsburgh Pirates were promoting top prospect Konnor Griffin for his big-league debut, the team made the announcement on Friday.

The news comes hours ahead of the Pirates’ 2026 home-opener vs. the Baltimore Orioles.

Griffin was off to a huge start with Triple-A Indianapolis this spring before Friday’s promotion, going 7-for-16 with three doubles, four runs scored and three stolen bases across five games.

First pitch between Baltimore and Pittsburgh is scheduled for 4:12 p.m. ET.
