iHeartMedia news/talk KOA (850 AM and FM translator K231BQ at 94.1) Denver, the flagship station of Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies, has announced that Zach Goodman will join the KOA Rockies Radio Network broadcast team starting April 4.
Goodman, who will be in the KOA broadcast booth alongside the 25-year “Voice of the Colorado Rockies” Jack Corrigan, is the son of Drew Goodman, the TV voice of the Rockies since 2002. KOA has been the Rockies’ radio flagship since the team’s first MLB season in 1993.
Prior to joining the Rockies, Goodman served as the radio voice of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ double-A minor league team, the Amarillo Sod Poodles in Texas, for the past two seasons. He also handled basketball and volleyball play-by-play while at Webster University in St. Louis, where he was also the starting catcher for the college’s baseball team.
“I was immediately impressed by Zach’s natural, versatile talent first hearing him nearly two years ago,” KOA and Rockies Radio Program Director Dave Tepper says. “Rockies fans will appreciate his passionate, descriptive style, fueled by years of playing college baseball, alongside one of the great voices of the game, Jack Corrigan.”
Goodman adds, “Rockies baseball is in my blood. I’m excited to be a part of KOA, the station that’s been connecting this team with fans for generations. I can’t wait to experience every pitch with Rockies fans!”
