Over 41,000 fans rolled up to Nationals Park in Washington D.C. on Friday in the home opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Many patrons grabbed a few drinks and snacks outside at Tap 99 in Navy Yard just an hour before the first pitch.
“We’ve been coming to Opening Day since it started, since they’ve come back,” Bobby Dwyer, a Northern VA resident told 7News. “Its the love of baseball to me,” he added.

“its a beautiful soring day no better day to be in D.C. than opening day baseball,” Dwyers friend added.
Just a few rows done were Dodgers fans, Brad and Jessica Lynch, who were visiting Nats Park for the first time.
“Dodgers aren’t afraid to spend money, they got a good roster…a lot of people say the Dodgers buy their championships, that’s not true because you still have to play the game – you got to hit the ball, catch the bal.,” Lynch said.
