Uberstine joins the Red Sox after five seasons in the minors, most recently for Triple-A Worcester earlier this season. In 2025, Uberstine made 25 appearances between Double-A Portland and Worcester, posting a 3.58 ERA to go with 137 strikeouts. He was selected by Boston in the 19th round of the 2021 MLB Draft.

As a Wildcat, Uberstine posted a 4.82 career earned-run average in 61.2 innings over 13 outings from 2020-21.

Should he play for the Red Sox, Uberstine would become the first Wildcat to debut in Major League Baseball since Luke Farrell in 2017 and the first Wildcat to appear for Boston since John Trautwein in 1988.
